Welcome to Just Ask Priscilla! For tips on marketing, events and more!

Hi! I'm a lover of life, people, and fun! I have a 23-year professional background in Marketing - Communications, as well as substantial event planning experience. I'm out and about several nights a week in S. Florida. I've lots of good information to share! I'm always being asked all sorts of things - so it made perfect sense to start blogging! I seek to help people with the information I provide -- whether it be to help them market their business; hold a fabulous event; choose a restaurant; or have an incredible weekend in my area! Sometimes I just seek to inspire you, or make you think. Thanks for reading and sharing. CHEERS! P-

This post dedicated to Dogs...Man's best friend.

Rescued

I rescued a human today.
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels.
I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.
As she stopped at my cage I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage.
I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today.
Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel concerned about my past.
I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me.
I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her.
Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side.
I would frolick and play when she felt playful and curl up beside her when she wanted peace
and quiet.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor!
So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.
So many more to be saved.
At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.

JANUARY - DAY TRIP, ANYONE?

Well well… happy friggin new year!   We survived another one!  If you are like me, the end of the holiday season is a bummer… the festivities end and it's back to the grind.  So—my advice?  Give yourself something to look forward to!  Plan a one or two-day outing in February!  Where to, you ask?  But of course I have some suggestions!  I wont elaborate on each place because then this post would be too long. But they are all places where I have been and stayed, so if you want more information/ if you'd like me to help you plan your trip, just ask! vYou can always contact me through my website  -  justaskpriscilla.com

If you are in South Florida:
Visit Marco Island. There are good deals on vacation home rentals/condos you can rent for just a couple of days or week. The boathouse motel is very reasonable and even has a couple of pet friendly rooms.   Sunsets there are gorgeous and there are some good restaurants.  Don't miss The Little Bar  restaurant and Stan's Buzzards Bay bar (a bit rough but great!) - both in Goodland, just off Marco.

Or head up to the small, quaint, beachy village of Jensen Beach. I loved it! Two or three art galleries, just a few bars and restaurants, and very reasonable hotels, Including a brightly colored tropical small hotel on the water called Caribbean Shores. It was very clean and well priced. I actually think about moving there in a few years.

Or vacation in your own backyard—go to Lake Worth—party, dine out, bar hop. Visit Dolce Vita wine bar and tell them Priscilla sent you. Spend the night at Mango Inn bed-and-breakfast—it is exceptional! Tell them Priscilla sent you. :-)

How about a one night stay in Delray Beach? I love this town so yes, I'm a little bit partial to it. :-)  I highly recommend a stay at Crane's BeachHouse or Wright by the Sea. Wrights  is on the ocean, Cranes is not—but Crane's has a lovely lush tropical courtyard and a great tiki bar. Mentioning my name at either place when you make your reservation should get you a slight discount. Like 10 or 15%.  Just ask for it!

And I will turn you on to an incredible little hotel in Fort Lauderdale called the Pillars. On the river, and a real gem. They even do small events and weddings there.

If you aren't wanting to spend the night somewhere, spend the day in Jupiter (visit the lighthouse) or stroll through Morikami Gardens in west Boca and have lunch there. (The Bento Box - yum!)

Now if by chance you are reading this and you are not from Florida, I can also recommend Day trips in the Pittsburgh and Baltimore areas. I would love to hear from you. That's it for now—make it a great month and a great year. Focus on the positive and let go of all old hurts or grudges. Life is too short to bring ourselves down! Stick with the people who bring you joy—and don't invest your time on things or people who don't. Life is what we make of it, more so than what happens to us. No matter how much time I have left on this earth—I'm going to make sure that I enjoy it as much as possible and that I help others to enjoy it as well.  Blessings to you and your family and friends throughout the year.
